DESCRIPTION

Vintage oil on canvas painting of a nautical landscape by V Benior. This nautical painting depicts boats on a river in front of a stone arched bridge. They look like steam powered tug boats which have created a foggy mist as they have come through the tunnels. The combination of both steam and more archaic small sailboats occupying the same river intimate a transitional time period on the busy river life scene. This atmospheric painting has qualities reminiscent of Turners illusion in his painting "Rain, Steam and Speed". This may more likely be scene from a city port like Venice as intimated by the style of building and skyline.

This art is in good physical condition. There are 2 small holes in the canvas on the right hand side. The canvas is also showing through in some areas (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
