Antique 1905 Grand Army of the Republic commemoration coin. Celebrating the 39th National Encampment of the GAR at Pikes Peak, Denver this antique brass medal commemorates those surviving members who attended. Even then the members had to be at least 55 years old to have even been of age to fight so there cannot have been many.

Marked on back: "9th National Encampment G.A.R./In Honor/of the/Brave Men/Who Victoriously/Defended the Union/on Land and Sea/During the War/of the/Great Rebellion/1861-1865/Denver Sept. 1905

This would make a great addition to your American civil war or numismatists collection.

Coin measures 2.75" diameter and weighs 4.6oz.
