Antique Tintype of Native American Indian Chief

  • $ 90000

Antique Native American Indian Chief tin type. This original tintype depicts an American Indian chief in full regalia with a woman. The woman is unidentified and the native American man is apparently one of the members of Buffalo Bills show. This photo was taken in around the 1910's in the San Gabriel valley area of Los Angeles, CA. This was purchased from the one of the trustees of the Frank Tenney Johnson estate several years ago. The blown up image is simply to show the detail of the original tin type which can be included in the listing if so desired.

Marked in pencil on back: San Gabriel

This would make a great addition to your rare photographs collection.
