Vintage Original 1980s Victor Entertainments Awards ~ Seymour N Heller

Original Victor entertainment award presented to Seymour N Heller (1914-2001). Presented to Seymour Heller in 1981 by the board of directors of the Victor awards for all of his work in the awards. The metal award depicts a male figure triumphantly holding aloft a laurel wreath in his right hand. This is housed in a deep shadow box with a brass plaque underneath stating the following:

Presented to Seymour N Heller who has proven himself a friend of the Victor awards ceremonies by his tireless participation in its programs; and for his generous assistance in planning, his foresight and concern for the less fortunate.

This would make a great addition to any awards collection. Seymour Heller was an American talent agent and artist's manager. Beginning his career during the Big Band Era, Heller spent more than 60 years in the entertainment industry representing the leading artists of the day, including Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Sammy Kaye, Glen Gray and Count Basie, Ginger Rogers, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O'Connor, Helen O'Connell, Frankie Lane, Regis Philbin, The Standells, Jimmie Rodgers, The McGuire Sisters, and Lawrence Welk, among others. He was best known for his association with Liberace, whom he signed in 1950 and represented until the entertainer's death in 1987.

This framed award measures 31" tall by 24." wide by 3.5" deep and weighs 21lb 1oz.
