Antique 1900s WMF Albert Kohler & Cie Decanter

  • $ 95000

Antique Art nouveau Austrian WMF claret jug. Manufactured from pewter and green bohemian glass this vintage wine decanter was made by AK & Cie as around 1900. Albert Kohler (AK & Cie) were a famous Austrian metalwork company that produced and distributed on the Austro Hungarian market for WMF between 1900 and 1914. Popularly known as a Jugendstil style this typical Vienna Secessionist lidded claret jug is adorned with swirling floral decoration which are actually braids of hair originating from the female figures head. The actual lady on either side of the sprawling green glass vessel is very much in the Alphonse Mucha style.

Marked on pewter underside: AK & Cie

This would make a great addition to your art nouveau home decor or a fabulous gift for a collector of fine WMF antiques.
