Antique English Mahogany Wood Sewing Box
Antique wooden mahogany Victorian sewing box. Double layered rich mahogany box used as a traveling companion which held a ladies jewelry and sewing attire. Dating to the middle to late Victorian era ( 1860's-1880's) the top layer has small bone knobs and fitted sections for various items. The empty tray underneath was used for storing letters, spare material or unfinished work in progress.
This would make a great addition to any sewing, Victorian or box collection. This would make a great early holiday gift.
Sewing box measures 12.5" long by 8" wide by 4.5" deep and weighs 4lb 9oz.
In good condition with signs of use commensurate with age and ready to display. There is some loss to the veneer on the side on the wood (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
