Antique French white enamel kitchenware. Original match safe holder & striker made from enameled metal ware in Czechoslovakia for the French import market in the late teens or 1920's. The lid on top has a strike patch for lighting and lifts up to reveal the stored matches and keep them dry. This vintage Allumettes enamelware container can be wall mounted or table top mounted with its flat bottom.

MEASUREMENTS

Holder measures 6.25“ tall by 2.5“ deep by 5" wide and weighs 7oz.

CONDITION

This match holder is in good condition considering age and use. There is some chipping to the enamelware particularly around the edges and inside and base. There are a couple of crack to the enamel on the inside of the holder (please see all photographs as they form part of the description).
