Vintage signed Native American Laguna pottery. Vintage small canteen by Michael Kanteena of Laguna New Mexico. Complete with its original carrying strap this beautiful canteen as as being beautifully decorated with earth colors has an applied decoration on the front of a doll basket.

Michael Kanteena is known for his pottery inspired by Chaco, Mesa Verde and other Ancestral Pueblo pottery. Kanteena also makes pottery inspired by historic kachina dolls and kachina masks. His work has been displayed in the Maxwell Museum in Albuquerque, the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, and at many commercial galleries.

Marked on base: M Kateena, Laguna, NM

Provenance: Private Collection, Los Angeles, CA.

Canteen measures 3.75" diameter by 1.75" deep by 4" tall and weighs 6.6oz.
