Antique J & J Siddons No.2 Convex Sad Iron
Antique British polishing iron. Vintage primitive country decor no 2 sad iron registered in England (Rd No.573) J & J Siddons around the 1870's. This antique domestic tool was employed most likely in a wealthy household during the Victorian period. The company who produced this in the industrial heartland of Birmingham started business in the 1840's and are still thriving today.

This form of irons were used with items cold water starched such as Gents' dickey fronts, collars and cuffs. Cleaned and lacquered and complete and in good order.
This antique sad iron is a great addition to your Victorian home decor and would make a great birthday gift or a housewarming gift.
Antique iron measures 5.75“ long by 3“ wide by 3.75" tall and weighs 2 lbs 11 oz.
