Vintage Abstract Sterling Silver Brooch by Erika Hult de Corral
A great early example of silver Erika Hult de Corral sterling silver jewelry. This abstract modernist vintage brooch pin exudes elegance which straddles both the contemporary and future styles in jewelry.
Marked: Sterling 925 Taxco Mex, ERE (for Erika Hult de Corral), Eagle 3 mark
This vintage brooch pin is a superb example of Erika’s eye for modernism and her elite construction techniques – asymmetric yet balanced. She always used heavy gauge sterling silver in her pieces to give them durability and the feel of substance.
Erika Hult de Corral worked with Sigi Pineda & Enrique Ledesma before moving to Puerto Vallarta & opening her own shop in 1966. Most of her early work is stamped with the eagle 3 mark and Taxco as is this brooch, indicating that her designs were executed by Taxco silversmiths. Her work is very modern reminiscent of Danish modern designs with its clean contoured lines.
Brooch pin measures 2.25" long by 0.85" wide.
