Rare Vintage Round Bloodstone Match Holder Soap Stone Safe for Toothpicks
Rare bloodstone match holder striker. Made from a heavy agate like stone this smooth mottled striker has ridged lines cut horizontally around it to act as the striking surface for the matches. Cold to the touch these agate bloodstone strikers were popular in Scotland where the stone was popularly used for decoration. This dates to the 1920's-40's and is most likely British in origins.
This would suit any living room or smoking parlor now or be used on a dining room table as a toothpick holder when entertaining.
Match Holder measures 3“ diameter by 2“ tall and weighs 1lb 3oz.
