Victorian British Silver Salt Container
Antique silver Victorian hallmarked hinged salt container / mustard pot with spoon. Hallmarks for 1875 (U) by the maker Thomas Purver (TP), it was made in London (Leopard head) during the reign of Queen Victoria (monarchs face).
As expected with all high quality pieces of Victorian antique silver it is also marked on the hinged lid. The spoon is also made in London but 7 years later in 1882 (G).
This would make a great addition to any Victorian home decor or English setting table display.
Mustard pot / salt container measures 1.75“ tall by 2.5“ wide (4" with handle) and weighs 9.6oz with its glass liner and spoon.
In good condition but the original cobalt blue glass liner is cracked and would require replacing (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
