Vintage Ceramic Advertising Match Holder Striker for Cassis Quenot Dijon
DESCRIPTION
Vintage French tobacciana ceramic advertising matchstrike / match holder. This classical counter top match holder would have graced a cafe or bar during the 1940's/50's with free matches being provided for the patrons. It could be struck against the ridges on the side to ignite the match. Cassis Quenot was a aniseed liquor popular in France at this time. This would make a great addition to any bar area or ceramic collection. It was part of a large collection purchased from a match strike and inkwell collector recently.
Marked on top: Cassis Quenot Seul fabricant Dijon
This would suit any living room or smoking parlor, be used on a dining room table as a toothpick or candle holder when entertaining. A great housewarming or early holiday gift idea.
