DESCRIPTION

Vintage 1930s British watercolor seascape titled "Break of Day". Signed by the artist J Wilkin Bowman this beach scene depicts an early morning with three ships in the distance and periwinkle pickers in the foreground. The menacing sky merges into the sea on top as the beach merges into the sea from underneath which typifies the weather in Folkestone, England. This piece of art was shown at the Laguna Beach Art Association August-September Exhibition in 1939.
