Vintage ceramic HMV Nipper the dog sculpture. Vintage Victor phonograph advertising display chalk ware statue depicting the HMV (His Masters Voice)dog listening tentatively for the sound of his masters voice through the phonograph. Nipper the dog was an iconic symbol used originally by Berliner for use in the United States on July 10, 1900 and subsequently HMV, Victor and a host of phonograph companies to advertise their products worldwide. He is one of the most iconic and recognizable advertising dogs of all time.
This piece is not marked anywhere with a makers or date mark.

MEASUREMENTS
Nipper measures 8" deep by 4" wide by 9.5" tall and weighs 3lb 12oz.
CONDITION
In fair condition considering age and use, there is some chipping to the paintwork and scratches throughout the statue and there is evidence of an old repair to his right leg (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
