DESCRIPTION

A vintage pair of all metal heavy belaying pins. This unmarked pair date to the late Victorian, early Edwardian period and are complete with their original ring. The handles are made form wood and the main body appears to be a coppered bronze. A belaying pin is a solid metal or wooden device used on traditionally rigged sailing vessels to secure lines of running rigging. These were recently acquired from the estate of a family with a long naval association.

This would make a great addition to any cigar collection or birthday gift idea.

MEASUREMENTS

Belaying pins measure 13" tall by 2" wide by 1" deep and together weigh 9lb.

In good condition overall with no apparent damage (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
