1907 Female Athletes Bowling Pillow Lithograph by Campbell, Metzger & Jacobson

  • $ 35000

Antique framed art print on fabric. Vintage Edwardian bowling advertising image of a lady bowling , a scoreboard in the background and all the period terms for scores in ten pin bowling. This healthy lady was the quintessential Gibson girl ideal being promoted during the Edwardian period in America so who better to advertise the rage of bowling than the modern woman.

This vintage chromolithograph pillow cover was produced in 1907 on cotton and linen cloth by Campbell, Metzger and Jacobson who were prolific manufacturers of promotional items during the period.

Campbell, Metzger & Jacobson manufactured textiles in New York City in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The company was founded by Jasper A. Campbell, David Arthur Metzger, and Charles A. Jacobson.
