Antique 1800s American Civil War Military Officers Brass Crutches

  • $ 50000

Antique American civil war era officers brass crutches. Dating to the mid to late 19th century these black leather clad crutches are made from brass upright and chromed handles and wooden curved tops. A rare set of medical crutches probably bespoke made for an officer of means who could afford to commission such an item. Usually these are plain wooden pieces with no metal or leather for that matter on them anywhere. They were recently acquired from a civil war medical collection in the Los Angeles area.

This would make a great addition to any civil war or antique medical collection.

MEASUREMENTS

Crutches measure 6" deep by 8" wide by 31" tall and weighs 10b 10oz

CONDITION

In very good condition with some signs of use commensurate with age, there is wear and tear to the edges of the crutches specifically where the underarm would have rubbed against the leather.
