Antique worlds fair 1893 glass souvenir. Made by the Libbey Glass company in Toledo Ohio for the worlds fair in Chicago in 1893 this antique novelty piece was made in association with the cherry tree story. Washington who was deemed the father of the country was also associated with the early temperance societies such as the Washingtonians which has connotations with Carrie Nation and her axe.

MEASUREMENTS

Glass hammer measures 8" long by 4.25" tall by 1" deep and weighs 7.6oz.

CONDITION

This glass hammer is in good condition considering age and use, the pontil mark on the top of the axe was not ground off very well or got chipped as it has a sharper edge- please see all pictures as they form part of the description.
