  • $ 1,17500

DESCRIPTION

Antique mid to late 18th century circular enameled English porcelain snuff box. Adorned with Masonic symbols all the way through this porcelain box has had an enamel overlay which has been repaired in the past. The brass rim originally would have been gold gilt which is sadly worn away. The inside panel lid has a Georgian gentleman holding a masonic compass and wooden hammer standing on perhaps some sort of stage. The backdrop depicts a diamond chequered floor., floral wallpaper and pink drapes or curtains. He appears to be a very well dressed gentleman of note sporting a fur lined tricorn, rapier, long coat, sash, stockings and shoes with buckles. The bottom of the box depicts a skull and crossbones, an amphora with the Hebrew name for God written on it (Jehova), candles, bushels and the compass. The front also has classic symbology from the star, the G, the three pillars, the Sun and the Moon along with many other allegorical images.
