Antique wooden hand cranked fog horn. This no 1 box fog horn was designed by L D Lothrop and manufactured by Mason & Curtis around the turn of the last century. Designed as a portable warning device for coastline areas this was used in mines also as well as on small boats. The handle cranks and the bellows move but there is no sound. A great display item that really pops out.

MEASUREMENTS

Fog horn box measures 20.5" long by 16.5" wide by 9.5" deep and weighs 22lb 6 oz.

CONDITION

In good condition with signs of use commensurate with age and ready to display but the bellows are too stiff and would need to be replaced to work efficiently and some surface splits on the wood (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
