Antique c 1907 Sage Brush Hair Tonic Wood Box & 12 Amethyst Bottles

Antique advertising finger jointed wooden crate with original lilac bottles. Dating to around 1907 this wooden crate box originally contained 12 full Sage Brush hair tonic lilac bottles. Made in Idaho, USA these early primitive natural remedies were the newest accessory for the fashionable ladies and gentlemen of the time. The amethyst colored bottles which have an applied lip are missing their original labels but are all housed in their own individual compartments for easy transportation and storage.

The Sage Brush tonic company ltd was brought to life on Feb 14th 1907, the company did not last long however, for by September 1910 all assets were turned over to the bank. The word "Sage Brush" was registered with a picture of sage brush as a trademark for "Hair Tonics" in 1908 by the Sage Brush Tonic Co., of Shoshone, Idaho, who indicated that they had used the brand name since 1906.

This would make a great birthday gift or addition to your vintage advertising collection or vintage hair salon collection display. This is a relatively rare company which existed for a very short time.

MEASUREMENTS

Box measures 13.5"long by 9.5" wide by 9.5" tall and weighs 11lb 15oz.

CONDITION

In good condition considering age and use. The crate lid has warped and come apart (it slides back together). Some of the bottles have signs of white residue but there is no cracking or chipping to any of the bottles(please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
