DESCRIPTION

Antique oil painting on copper. Vintage oil painting of a lady's head in colorful dress. This vintage portrait painting of a middle eastern or mediterranean lady in traditional head dress and earrings is indicative of a local wedding or ceremony. Her full frontal portrait portrays heavy eyelids and full lips which suggest an attractive demure with a casual confidence in her features.

Signed in the bottom corner by the artist Simone (I assume as it may also be the name of the model). As to her age it can only be surmised at the 1920's/30's referencing the frame and construction.

Also written on the back in a somewhat indecipherable hand "Simone Drake"?

MEASUREMENTS

Frame measures 11.5 inches long by 10 inches wide (image measures 7.5 inches by 9 inches) and weighs 1lb 9oz.

CONDITION

In good used condition with signs of use commensurate with age. There is some chipping to the paint specifically around the top corners (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
