Antique Primitive Hall & Knapp Carpenters 29.5" Level

Rare antique wooden and brass centered Hall & Knapp carpenters level. Vintage tool dating to the 1800s era with both horizontal and vertical level. This antique carpenters level is made from mahogany and brass fittings. Thomas S. Hall and Francis Knapp organized Hall and Knapp in New Britain in 1853 producing try squares, levels and plumbs. In 1857 Henry Stanley, older brother of August and Timothy consolidated the firms of A. Stanley & Co. (rules), and Hall and Knapp to "The Stanley Rule and Level Co."

Marked on brass: Hall & Knapp, New Britain, CT

This would make a great birthday gift, addition to any vintage tool collection or collector of carpenters tools.

MEASUREMENTS

Wooden level measures 29.5“ long by 3" wide by 1.25" deep and weighs 3lb 3oz.

CONDITION

In generally good working condition considering age and use. There are some small marks and scratches to the wood and brass commensurate with its use (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
