Antique Queen Victoria Diamond Jubilee Plate ~ 1897 W Adams

Antique Victorian plate made to commemorate the Diamond jubilee of the reign of Queen Victoria in 1897. Manufactured by W Adams & co of Tunstall, this Imperial Porcelain was made as part of a service dinner for the Queen Victoria's 60th celebration. It is assumed the local dignitaries of Coventry attended this feast and ate from these plates which was set up by the then mayor Albert S Tomson. Tomson was a JP eight times Mayor of this city including the years 1887 the Jubilee of Queen Victoria, 1897 the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, 1902 the Coronation of King Edward VII.

Marked on the reverse : A Crown Imperial Porcelain W Adams & Co Tunstall

This would make a great addition to any British royal or Victorian porcelain collection.

MEASUREMENTS

Plate measures 10" in diameter by 0.5" thick and weighs 1lb 2 oz.

CONDITION

In good solid condition and ready to display or use with the usual wear and tear associated with use but no cracks or breaks (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
