British Army Cuirass Cavalry Breastplate Chest Armor

DESCRIPTION

Original British Army household cavalry cuirass chest armor. Worn by the Blues and Lifeguard cavalry since the coronation of George IV in 1821 these silvered cuirass were parade armor only. This is the front breast plate only in uncleaned original condition. Since these British breastplates are not date or manufacturer marked unlike their French counterparts it is difficult to honestly date this, but it is at least 50 years old. This piece of chest armor is a great display item for the military collection which could be mounted with cross swords behind it.

MEASUREMENTS

Chest armor measures 15“ wide by 17“ long by 6“ deep and weighs 5lbs 5 oz.

CONDITION

In good used condition with signs of use commensurate with age such as scratches and surface rust (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
