Howard Keel Confederate Officers Movie Uniform

  • $ 35500

Vintage movie costume from an MGM western which I believe is the 1968 classic "The Arizona Bushwhackers". Worn by Howard Keel as a confederate officer in the 1968 movie this vintage movie prop consists of both pants and coat. The vintage clothing has his name on both pieces along with the studio name. This was acquired at the estate of an MGM employee who worked in the wardrobe department at the time.

Arizona Bushwackers was the last of three B westerns that Howard Keel made during the Sixties. He also did Waco and Red Tomahawk. He also appeared in support of John Wayne and Kirk Douglas in the acclaimed War Wagon.

Marked in ink on jacket lining: Confederate Officer - Howard Keel
Label in jacket: Logan Costume co
Label in jacket inside pocket: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer - Name: H Keel - No 1520 2944

A great addition to your theatre costume collection.

I have included a photograph of a similar version of the costume worn by Howard Keel.

CONDITION

This vintage confederate officers suit is in good condition with some signs of use commensurate with age. There is a small hole in the back of the left sleeve of the jacket and a couple of small holed in the trousers - it is a wool suit so no doubt these have been caused by moths in the past. (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
