Primitive Antique Hatters Shackle

  • $ 17500

Rare primitive home decor hatters iron. This unusually designed iron is known as a Hatter's Shackle. Once the iron is heated the "grove" was placed on both sides of the brim of a dress hat and then ironed around just as a flat sad iron is used on linens.

Interesting and unusual this was acquired as part of a high end collection of Victorian ironing tools and advertising.

It is unmarked.

A great addition to primitive home decor collection. This would make a great unique gift for a birthday or house warming gift.
