Temperance Movement total abstinence medallion coin. Struck for the St Alkmunds abstinence society in 1858 in Derbyshire in the the north of England. St Alkmund (variant) was a 9th century Northumbrian lord. Both sides are beautifully struck with striking imagery of a lady collecting from the spring well of hope. The obverse side is detailed with divine biblical references as found in many early Stuart medals.

Marked on front: "All my springs are in thee"
Marked on back: The Lord bless thee and grant thee grace to keep thy promises. St Alkmonds Total Abstinence Society 1858

Item measures 2.25“ diameter wide by 0.25" deep and weighs 1.6oz.

CONDITION

Temperance movement coin is in good condition with signs of use commensurate with age,some scuffing on one side (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
