Antique crushed black silk plush top hat made by Youmans of New York around 1900. This beautiful size 6 and 5/8th gentlemans top hat retains the original Youmans logo on the inside along with the retail store it was made for along with the trademark ventilation hole on top. This stunning Victorian piece comes complete with a rather rare tapered brown leather and stripe lined interior travel case. These tapered cases were not very common then and are even scarcer now.

The Youmans logo and address is printing on the inside of the top hat long with "Specially manufactured for W H Gowdy & Co, New Haven, CONN.

This would make a great addition to any Victorian hat wear collection as decoration, a great birthday gift, as an opera hat or as a wedding gift for a groom to be worn on the nuptials day.

MEASUREMENTS

This antique top hat measures as a 6 and 5/8ths (21" inside circumference) - small
6.5" tall. the travel case measures 13" by 11.5" by 9.5" tall and together they weigh 2lb 8oz.
