Vintage 1972 Abstract Art Print by Gene Gill

  • $ 80000

Original retro abstract art design piece by Gene Gill created in 1972. Depicting a interlocking block form in a 3 dimensional or refractive style using blue and yellow lines on a aluminum background. An innovative original piece of abstract art which was acquired directly from the artists estate in valley lights, Pasadena, CA. This would make a great addition to any man cave, or abstract art collection.

In the 70's Gene Gill painted abstract designs on several layers of clear plastic. Each layer was set into a frame and spaced 1" apart. The background was a sheet of polished aluminum, also spaced 1" from the sheets of plastic. All this was set into a polished aluminum frame. The image constantly changed as the viewer moved around and as the lighting changed.

Signed on the reverse: G Gill 5/1972 - 20

Gene Gill was born in Memphis, Tennessee and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from The Chouinard Art Institute (now called The California Institute of the Arts).

He has exhibited widely in the Los Angeles area since 1970, in group shows as well as in one-man exhibitions. His paintings and graphics are included in the permanent collections of The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Palm Springs Desert Museum, Container Corporation of America, Atlantic Richfield Corporation, The Northrop Corporation, Home Savings, and The Ronald Reagan Presidential Library.

This would make a great addition to any vintage art or abstract collection. This would make a great early birthday gift.
