DESCRIPTION

Vintage signed original S Bang Danish briar pipe. Designed and manufactured by either renowned Danish pipe carver Per Hansen or Ulf Noltensmeier for retailer Svend Bang from choice briar this beautiful pipe retains its original stem in its original sleeve bag. This can be dated prior to 1984 when the stamping on the pipes changing from the English version "COPENHAGEN" to the Danish "KOBENHAVN" after Per Hansen and Ulf Noltensmeier took over the firm in 1984. As usual with all Bang pipes, this one is made with black, hand-cut vulcanite stems. This pipe may predate 1970 as there is no export number or letter grade according to the system introduced by Svend Bang in 1970 for most European-bound pipes which are stamped with letters to designate the grade Signed on the bowl this would make a great addition to any pipe collection or fun aesthetic decorative art.

MEASUREMENTS

The bowl measures just over 2" tall by 3" long by 2" in diameter.
The stem measures 3.75" which gives an overall length of 5.5" and weighs under 2 oz.
