DESCRIPTION

Vintage iron bladed trade knife with split antler handle known as an Elk Dreamer knife (an elk dreamer saw elk in his vision and thereby obtained the power of elk medicine). Complete in its original raw suede soft leather sheath with beading at the top this roughly hewn knife has a makers mark on the bottom of the sheath which looks like a steers head in a circle. The bone handle is a split antler bound with leather strips, a colored strip and a zig zag design on the handle. Complete with fringing this vintage trade knife preserves the integrity of Plains Indian art through the use of traditional materials, tools, and techniques.

A great addition to any Plains tribes or indigeneous collection.

MEASUREMENTS

Trade knife measures 5" tall by 14" long (6.75" blade) by 4" wide at the handle end and weighs 15 oz.
