Antique Nautical Battle Ships Rudder Angle Indicator ~ Henschel Corp

  • $ 24500

Vintage brass nautical equipment dating to the 1940's. Brass cast rudder angle indicator made by the Henschel corporation of Amesbury, Massachusetts. This vintage nautical piece was part of a large ships steering mechanism, most likely a Victory ship as made in the 1940's for the war effort. The brass casing opens up to reveal the internal wiring which looks as if it is all there which was still in use up to the late 1960's as attested to the last service date. This would make a great accent light display item if wired up to a bulb especially with the black background.

Marked on face: Rudder Angle Degrees, Left Right, Henschel Corporation, Amesbury, MASS, AX-57-3

A fabulous nautical piece for any eclectic home decor or as an addition to your maritime collection.
