Antique Stanley Brass Pocket Sextant in Case
Antique Stanley brass pocket sextant. This vintage maritime brass encased sextant is both its own contained cover and stand. Dating to the beginning of the 20th century this precision instrument which was also known as a Dollond box was used for measuring the angular distances between objects and especially for taking altitudes in navigation.
This would make a great addition to your nautical home decor or a great gift for a maritime collector.
Sextant measures 3" diameter by 1.75" tall and weighs 1lb 2oz.
The sextant is in good condition. There are some small scratches to the brass commensurate with age and use (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
