This is signed and numbered, no.2 by the artist with an additional print of one of the internal illustrations ready for framing. A rare and interesting book of observations of Victorian London society as viewed by an American.
Gibson was a significant American graphic artist noted for the creation of, "the Gibson Girl", an iconic, beautiful, independent American woman, at the turn of the 20th century. He was born in Roxbury Mass. and married the sister of Nancy Astor. He worked for Harpers Weekly, Colliers, Scribners and others.
