Antique French Pink Porcelain and Ormolu Decorative Desk Inkwell ~ Sevres Style

  • $ 55000

Antique Victorian French Sevres style porcelain and ormolu inkwell. Stylishly decorated with floral and putti decor on a pink background with gold trim this was most likely designed for use by a lady in the late 18th or early 19th century. This was a desk set accessory for any ladies correspondence set. There are no marks denoting the porcelain factory but it is in keeping with the Sevres factory in composition and style especially when coupled with the decorative brass mountings. Both the inkwell and plate stand are decorated with the same motifs throughout the porcelain and the brass trim on the edge of the plate along with the mounting on the top of the inkwell are delicately chased. It comes complete with a clear glass ink pot.
