Antique Pewter Reverend Father Mathew Medal

  • $ 12000

Antique temperance movement religious medal. Original proof strike silvered pewter medal struck during the 1880's by Linck in St Louis. This proof strike was the version approved by the Father Mathew society for a commemorative medal. Adorned with the bust of Reverend Father Mathew on one side it is blank on the other. I believe this side would eventually contain a wreath with a quote in it as I have seen in other similar medals.

A great addition to your religious , medal or temperance movement collection.

Marked on front: "Here Goes in the name of God" Theobald Mathew
