Temperance movement medal struck by Woodhouse in Dublin. Antique religious medal struck by the famous William Woodhouse, celebrated medallist in Dublin prior to his death in 1838 to celebrate the founding of his society. A rare Father Mathew medal which has the makers initials on one side and signature on the other.

A great addition to your antique religious, temperance movement or medal collection.

Marked on front: The Very Revd Theobald Mathew
Marked on back: The Great Apostle of Temperance, Founded his Society the 10th of APL 1838. A minister of the holies and true tabernacle which the Lord hath pitched and not man.

MEASUREMENTS

Item measures 1.75“ diameter and weighs less than 1oz.

CONDITION

In good used condition with signs of use commensurate with age, scuffs and dings (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
