Antique prohibition Carry A Nation jewelry lapel brooch. This vintage WCTU brooch depicts a mother of pearl hatchet head with a clear semi precious stone on a decorative brass handle with chased work throughout. This vintage promotional jewelry was sold by Carry Amelia Nation to support her temperance political campaign against alcohol around 1900.

Carrie Nation was the infamous axe wielding prohibitionist. Born into poverty and ill health in 1846, she would become one of the most iconic, militant figures of the Temperance Movement.

Brooch measures 2.25" long by 0.5" wide and weighs less than an oz.
