Original oil painting of a winter landscape scene. Large tree painting painted by Russian artist B Rumyantzeff in 1947 of a snow covered pastoral wooded scene. This large canvas landscape painting is signed and dated (in cyrillic) in the bottom left hand corner with his name in english on the back of the frame. Unfortunately I cannot find out anything about the artist.

As expected at the end of WW2 there was limited materials so a lot of artists used both sides of the canvas with different paintings. The reverse side of this oil painting appears to have a floral pond scene painted as an alternative. This oil on canvas is currently unframed but would really pop with the correct style. A great addition to your tree painting, landscape painting or Russian art collection for a ski resort or winter lodge.

MEASUREMENTS

Oil painting measures 36“ wide by 23.5“ tall and weighs almost 4 lbs.

CONDITION

In fair used condition with signs of use commensurate with age, contains a second painting on the reverse (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description). This would benefit from a clean and some light restoration.
