Victorian hand cranked fluting iron made by Eagle. These type of specialty irons were an essential appliance in the late 1800s as pleats and ruffles on collars, cuffs, and dresses were the fashion of the day. This American made cast iron fluting iron was patented Nov 2 1875 and this particular one dates from this 1880's period. In 1892, North Bros. purchased American Machine Co. of Philadelphia.

MEASUREMENTS

Fluting iron measures 4" tall by 7.5" wide (11" with handle) by 4.75" deep and weighs 4lb 10oz.
