Antique William DeMuth Co Briar Cane

Vintage briar walking stick with horn and sterling handle. The solid silver ferrule which joins the horn handle to the briar cane is marked for the William DeMuth co. William DeMuth was a well known craftsman making canes & Tobaciana items from 1870-1890 & died in 1911. The company stayed in business until 1970, but was focused mainly on the Tobaciana. This vintage cane is a superb example of their work which incorporates the practical and aesthetically beautiful in one. The sterling ferrule has a tied knot decoration on it.

Marked "Solid Silver" and also stamped "WDC" in a Triangle which is the makers mark for William DeMuth Co.

A great addition to your walking cane collection and still a good story usable piece.

MEASUREMENTS

Walking cane measures 35“ long by 1“ diameter (handle is 5" long) and weighs 8.8oz.

CONDITION

In good usable condition. The solid silver section is dented a little from age and use (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
