Antique half plate cased ambrotype by the Spooner brothers of Springfield, illinois. This antique glass ambrotype portrait depicts a young woman in a bonnet a very Victorian image. The half plate image is clear and free from any damage along with the heavy brass Cutting mat plate which is a Spooner brothers design. The leather case has a beautiful floral patter tooled all over it.

The case is marked: Cuttings Patent July 11th 1854, Spooner Bros

This would make a great addition to your rare photographs collection.

CONDITION

In generally good condition considering age and use though the case has been repaired on the spine (please see all photographs as they form part of the listing description).
