Bethany Deaconess Hospital 70 Yr Anniversary Medal

Vintage bronze medallion. Celebratory medal struck to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Bethany Deaconess Hospital. Taking 10 years to build this brownstone hospital in Brooklyn, New York was constructed with funds raised by the German communities of Bushwick and Ridgewood. The hospital was located at 237 St. Nicholas Avenue, or 415 Bleeker Street, today. It later became part of the Wyckoff Heights Hospital, Wyckoff Heights Medical Center before closing its doors in 1974.
