Antique 19th C Imperial German Hohenzollern Clock Wooden Eagle Black Forest
Antique imperial German wall clock. Dating to the 1860's/70's era through the rare mechanism used in the back of the clock this small wall clock is carved in the guise of a shield with an eagle. This red shield background has a metal shield clock face mounted at an angle over a Black Forest carved carved eagle similar to the Prussian house of Hohenzollern. This was acquired from an estate in broken pieces and put together and serviced by a clockmaker. This is more of a decorative piece than an accurate time piece. It has to be perfectly level on a wall in order to keep time perfectly.
A great addition to any black forest, imperial German or novelty clock collection.
Carved clock measures 9" tall by 7.75" deep by 1.5" wide and weighs 14oz.
In fair working condition overall with several small pieces missing from his wings and claw (please see all pictures as they form part of the condition description).
