Antique 19th C Imperial German Hohenzollern Clock Wooden Eagle Black Forest
DESCRIPTION
Antique imperial German wall clock. Dating to the 1860's/70's era through the rare mechanism used in the back of the clock this small wall clock is carved in the guise of a shield with an eagle. This red shield background has a metal shield clock face mounted at an angle over a Black Forest carved carved eagle similar to the Prussian house of Hohenzollern. This was acquired from an estate in broken pieces and put together and serviced by a clockmaker. This is more of a decorative piece than an accurate time piece. It has to be perfectly level on a wall in order to keep time perfectly.
A great addition to any black forest, imperial German or novelty clock collection.
