Antique African Gabon Punu Tribal Wooden Mask
Antique African Punu tribal mask from Gabon. This style of African mask captures what is considered a beautiful female face by Gabon’s Punu tribe. Typical features of a Punu mask are hair pulled up high on top of the head, oval carved eyes reminiscent of an Asian woman and sometimes painted white to represent the spirits of long-dead ancestors. Made from hardwood this antique mask was acquired from an African gentlemans estate in Puerto Rico about 10 years ago.
A great wall hanger which would suit any living room or office. This would make a great birthday or housewarming gift for any tribal enthusiast.
