Antique Brass Metal and Leather Portfolio Document Holder Carrier
Antique leather blotter with brass corners and central escutcheon. Dating to the beginning of the 20th century this vintage letter carrier is lined with blue satin interior with 2 expanding pockets to hold documents. These document folders were popular up until the 1930's when fountain pens were being replaced by the emerging ball point market pens. Even though ball point pens had been patented in the 1880's they were not really successfully developed until the late 1930's.
A great addition to your antique collection, eclectic office decor or early holiday gift idea.
Portfolio measures 14" long by 10.75" wide and weighs 2lb 3oz.
In good condition considering age and use. The blue satin lining inside has worn away at the edges of the portfolio - please see all pictures as they form part of the description.
