Antique British Sterling Silver Articulated Pen
Antique British Victorian novelty propelling pencil and pen in one. Manufactured by the esteemed Sampson Mordan & Co in London from sterling silver in 1897 this would have originally been part of a ladies or gentlemans traveling compendium. Beautifully chased with typical Art Nouveau floral decor throughout this two in one implement has a monogrammed cartouche. Each propelling pen or pencil has its own individual button to push it up and down to choose which was needed to write with.
Marked: SM & Co (Makers mark), lion passant (sterling mark) leopards head (London city mark) and letter b (year mark)

Silver piece measures 3.5" long by .25" base diameter and weighs less than 1oz.
