Antique Edwardian English Sterling Silver Stamp Sovereign Case 1904 EJ Houlston
DESCRIPTION
Rare antique sterling silver English stamp and sovereign case. Dating to 1904 this unusual sterling silver sovereign and stamp case was made in Birmingham by the distinguished firm of Edwin Joseph Houlston. Beautifully chased on the main body with rich acanthus scrolling and floral designs it retains its blank cartouche. This rich design is typical of the Edwardian period.
Hallmarked: EJH ( Edwin Joseph Houlston) Anchor (Birmingham city mark) lion passant (sterling mark) e (year mark 1904)
A great addition to any English sterling silver, or unusual silver collection. These would make a great early birthday or housewarming gift.

Sovereign case measures 0.5"deep by 1.25" wide by 2.5" long and weigh 1.2oz.
